1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller for personal data processed through this calculator (powercalculator.reverlast.solar) is:

For any privacy question or request, contact us at the address above. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to.

2. What we collect and why

Using the calculator

The calculation runs entirely in your browser. The island, consumption, diesel cost and other values you enter are not sent to us. To let you move between steps without losing your inputs, they are kept in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab or press "Start over".

Emailing your results

When you use "Email my results", we process:

• your email address
• the location and calculator results you generated (for example island name, estimated energy demand, system size and savings), which are included in the PDF report
• your IP address, for bot protection and to limit how many emails can be sent from one connection

We use this data to:

• Send you the report you asked for. Legal basis: taking steps at your request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Follow up with you about a possible floating solar project. A copy of your email address and results is sent to the Reverlast team. We may contact you once or a few times about your results. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time and we will stop.
• Protect the service from abuse and spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do not add you to a newsletter, and we do not sell or rent your data.

Location search and maps

When you search for a place, the text you type is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find matching locations. When you view the map, map images are loaded from Esri and CARTO, and selected coordinates may be sent to Open-Meteo to look up elevation. These services receive your IP address and the area you are looking at, as any website you load content from would. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a working map and search (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Technical data

Like any website, the servers that deliver this page and its scripts receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. This is needed to deliver and secure the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

3. Who receives your data

We use the following service providers. Where they act on our behalf, they process data only under our instructions.

Inside Reverlast, only the people handling sales and project enquiries see the emailed results.

4. Transfers outside the EU

Some providers, including Cloudflare and Esri, are based in the United States or may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, on an adequacy decision by the European Commission (for example for the United Kingdom and Switzerland), or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep it

• Calculator inputs: only in your browser, until you close the tab or start over.
• IP address for rate limiting: deleted automatically after one hour.
• Email address and results sent to our team: kept for as long as needed to follow up on your enquiry, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we enter into a business relationship. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
• Email delivery logs: kept by our email provider for a limited period for delivery and troubleshooting, then deleted under its retention schedule.
• Server and security logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period, under its retention schedule.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across websites. We use your browser's session storage only to keep your calculator inputs while you use it, which is necessary for the feature you are using. Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a request comes from a person and not a bot, may store technical information needed for that check. It is not used for advertising.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy
• have inaccurate data corrected
• have your data deleted
• restrict how we use your data
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest, including any follow-up contact. If you object to follow-up, we will stop.
• receive your data in a portable format (data portability)

To use any of these rights, email ossi@reverlast.solar. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by replying from the email address you used.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Finland this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman. You can also contact the authority in the EU country where you live or work.

8. Other information

• Giving us your email address is voluntary. Without it, we cannot email you the report, but you can still use the calculator and save or print your results.
• We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
• The calculator is meant for businesses and public bodies, not for children.
• We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), bot protection and access limited to the people who need it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the calculator or our providers change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
